In 2010 alone, according to a survey recently conducted by Hotelbook.com, the online booking sites dedicated to portable instruments would be used less than 5 billion times.
New technologies, particularly those related to location-based programs that can quickly show all the accommodation offers available in a given geographical area, allowing travelers to make decisions almost immediately, thus generating a significant reduction of the so-called window of booking hotel accommodation:
Hotelbook.com according to the study, one-fifth of the travelers would buy their own room now just five days before their arrival at the hotel.
And while the airlines continue to be made well in advance, as hotels are increasingly deferred to the date of departure, sometimes even immediately before entering the hotel.
